Claddie competitions for guests go back to the beginning of the millennium.
2009's competition requires entrants to send in action photos from their holiday, full details will be provided on booking.
We have had a variety of themes in the past, many requiring photography or video capture - some of these can be viewed on www.flickr.com/claddie.
Some competitions have also invited guests to enter verse and limericks. Below are some examples:
Would you Adam & Eve it
Only God or John Rankin could conceive it
Claddie's the best to go for a rest
But the worst thing is having to leave it.
Liam Brennan
A Francophile fellow called Alec
Was enamoured of everything Gallic
Vacations in France were all he would chance
'Til he discovered the charms of Auchalick
Steve Raynor
So you want me to mak a holiday limerick,
I canna John Im afy thick,
But the sights and sounds o' this place I will save
And tak its memories to my grave.
Sallie Harvey
Not for us the noisy streets,
Traffic-filled streets, crowded streets
Of people seeking sun and fun,
Who party on when day is done.
Not for us the fun-fair rides,
The whirling, twirling, hurtling rides
That fill the air with screams and shouts,
To some folk this is fun, no doubt.
Not for us the crowded sands,
The ice-cream, candy floss and hot-dog vans,
The beach umbrellas, donkey rides,
One look would make us run and hide!
Blackpool? Yarmouth? Skegness? NO!
None of these for us, I know.
But for us the solitude,
The relaxing, refreshing solitude,
The peace, the stillness - nothing more
Than idly strolling on the shore.
Yes, for us, the varying skies,
The threatening skies or wide blue skies
With racing clouds o'er distant hills,
This is what gives us a thrill.
Where to find such pleasures and more?
At Claddie, our cottage by the shore.
